Inspired by my childhood fascination with the supernatural and exploring abandoned places with my friends, this project explores friendship, resilience, and the pursuit of meaning amid the unknown.

Explorations of poses and interactions between the three friends. Each illustration delves into how they connect and express themselves, offering a glimpse into their bonds and the story's themes of friendship and shared adventure.

Early Explorations

Before creating the turnaround sheets, I focused on exploring each character's design. I experimented with various shapes and colors to best convey their personalities.

This sketch page features the earliest concepts where I experimented with their facial designs. The second page explores one character's outfit design and color palette.

An early lineup that was created after initial sketch explorations. While not final, it captures the foundational traits and dynamics of the trio as I continued refining their appearances and personalities.

Animal & Creature Design

These design explorations for Road to Nowhere showcase cryptids inspired by my childhood in California. Drawing from local folklore and scary stories I grew up hearing, I re-imagined these creatures to create a unique take.
